From Coding Agent to REDNET AI Toolkit - AI Becomes Part of the Whole Team

REDNET AI Toolkit

Artificial intelligence has been a core part of our work for around two years now. With the REDNET AI Toolkit, we are consistently continuing down this path.

The foundation is the REDNET Framework - the basis of almost all MMI solutions for 14 years. It brings a workflow engine, a messaging bus and more than 50 ready-made adapters for quickly integrating third-party systems such as SAP, MAM or newsroom systems. The framework is complemented by OpsCenter, our monitoring solution for central configuration, secrets management and metadata management.

From Coding Agent to Toolkit

In early 2026, the REDNET Coding Agent brought the next stage: software development through natural language. The agent solves complex tasks autonomously, using the entire REDNET Framework as its skillset.

With the REDNET AI Toolkit, we are now extending this approach to additional user groups. Anyone using the toolkit chooses a standard agent (e.g. Claude, Gemini or Junie) and pairs it with REDNET agent skills from three areas: Coding, Architecture and Operations. This creates specialized REDNET agents:

  • The REDNET Coding Agent develops software from natural language.
  • The REDNET Architecture Agent plans SOA solutions autonomously - maintainable, secure, architecturally precise, modular and scalable.
  • The REDNET Ops Agent brings expertise directly into OpsCenter, for example to analyze completed processes including to-dos and prioritization.

All of this is coordinated through our self-hosted Coder platform - an open-source foundation where developers and AI agents work together securely.

A European Perspective: Europe First, Not Europe Only

The European perspective matters to us here: every component of the toolkit is configurable. Where European language models are still catching up in maturity, non-European solutions can be replaced step by step - following the principle of "Europe first", not "Europe only". A policy router (based on LiteLLM) gives the agents access to AI models while enabling precise cost control per team, user or project.

What This Already Means for Our Customers Today

  • Chatbots based on customer data
  • AI in the MAM environment - from metadata enrichment to search
  • Transcription & subtitle generation - automated, multilingual
  • AI Ops - AI-supported infrastructure monitoring and control
  • MCP server integration - so agents can safely "talk" to existing systems
  • Coding agent including Jira integration - from requirement to ticket

What matters to us here: we don't blindly commit to the full AI stack, but adapt it to what is regulatorily and organizationally possible for each customer.
